The puzzle pieces have inset pieces of wood glued into place and chosen randomly from a larger selection of woods so that each puzzle is uniquely colored. The irregular tray shape helps lead the solver into the proper placement of the pieces while the vast array of possible placements means you usually don’t have the correctly shaped space left at the end to fit the last few pieces. Each piece overlaps the next piece in a single loop that wanders throughout the entire puzzle. Hint: adjacent pieces of inset wood never have the same color. If all else fails, the solution is engraved on the back. Does the name of the puzzle mean Circle Rectangle or Circle Wreck? You decide.
